In 2009, the Buffalo UAS story took flight when our founder, Ryan Sajdak, set his compass towards the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence in Fort Rucker, Alabama. His destination? To become a helicopter pilot. Over the next few years, Ryan flew high, clocking in hundreds of hours piloting helicopters during training exercises and life-saving aeromedical evacuation missions, both stateside and beyond.

However, in 2016, Ryan decided to change his flight path. He hung up his helicopter pilot’s hat, but his passion for aviation was still in full throttle. He wasn’t ready to descend just yet.

So, in 2020, Ryan embarked on a new journey, earning his wings as a certified UAS drone pilot. His love for aviation, now firmly focused on the exciting world of drones, took off in a whole new direction. Swapping the helicopter cockpit for the drone controller, Ryan was ready to chart a new course in the sky, setting the trajectory for his next adventure in professional drone services.
